The National Smokejumper Center was put together by a group of school teachers, foresters, lead pilots and retired smokejumpers with a commitment to preserving the proud history of smokejumpers. They aim to create a unique educational experience for visitors of all ages. Our various age visitors had a great time, so I recommend it. Continue Reading

If you’re in West Yellowstone and you’re looking to fill out the empty parts of an afternoon, take a few minutes and go check out the Oregon Short Line Museum. Not because it will change your life, but because it’s free, quick to visit, and awfully interesting. Continue Reading

West Glacier has some trouble in attracting the tourists, since almost all of them are hell-bent on diving straight into the adjacent Glacier Park. Don’t think of it a s a zoo, but as a place where you can see a glimpse of what preservation actually looks like. Continue Reading

Rodeos may have been born in olden days to ease the cowboys’ boredom, but today’s rodeos are pure excitement for visitors young and old, from far and wide, and even the locals love it too. If you’re visiting Yellowstone for more than the geysers, this is a great place to go. Continue Reading

One of our favorite places to spend the night on our last major tour was the Bar N Ranch in West Yellowstone. It was more than nice, quieter than peaceful, and for the kids – it was a super cool place to spend the slumbery hours. Continue Reading

When we went through Yellowstone last year, there were a few things that really made our visit memorable. West Yellowstone sees more visitors than anywhere else in the state, and the city has learned accordingly to cater to travelers of all budgets and backgrounds. Bar-N-Ranch, just out of town to the west, hits the uncommon point of offering incredible food for what I can only describe as “normal” prices. Continue Reading

Join them as they take dedicated Yellowstone tours showing the ecosystem that is home to Old Faithful and two-thirds of the world’s geysers. This is the place where grizzly bears, wolves bison, and many other of the abundant wildlife roam freely. They claim to cater to individuals, families with children and groups of all sizes, and I believe it. Continue Reading

Whether you’re a long-time fan or you just “herd” of this recently, there is an attraction about to make its way through West Yellowstone for the last time. Don’t worry, you’ve still got a while to see it. I mean I don’t want you to cause a stampede or anything.

Later this summer we’ll be spending some time out at the Bar N Ranch in West Yellowstone. It’s one of those cozy, unbeatable places where it’s strongly advised to book as far in advance as possible, and plan to struggle debating between the many activities available and your natural desire to just sit back and watch the sun set. In response to strong and growing demand, they’ve made a big announcement this week. Continue Reading
